The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
It is the player's first trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
Victory also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
